Rendering issues on transition views (Cloud)

In Jira Cloud, when transitioning an issue with a transition view enabled, Multi-Level Cascading Select fields are not displayed correctly.

Transitioning from “Open” to “Work in progress”.

This use to happen because custom field types are not supported in transition views.

Solution

On the 14th of November 2024, Atlassian announced the implementation of certain custom field types in transition dialogues, including string types (MLCS is a custom field type string).

If this feature is not enabled in your instance, go to General Settings, scroll down to Jira Labs, and turn on the “New Issue Transition Experience”.
