Pec Mail Handler for Jira
The management of certified email (PEC) represents a common challenge for Jira users, since the native email handler is not designed to correctly process PEC messages.

What is it used for?
When a PEC email is received, PEC Handler for Jira extracts and attaches the metadata files embedded in the certified email, like:
Postacert.eml, containing the original certified email, including headers, body, and any standard attachments,Daticert.xml, providing metadata related to the message, such as sender and recipient addresses.

When a certified email (PEC) message is received, PEC Mail Handler for Jira processes its content, extracting the metadata files such as Postacert.eml and Daticert.xml, ensuring that all relevant information is captured and preserved.

Automating ticket creation with PEC Mail Handler for Jira requires just a few simple steps, allowing you to configure the reference PEC mail server and precisely define the handler’s behavior according to your needs (e.g., automatic selection of Assignee and Watchers).

Once the analysis is complete, a Jira issue is created.
The text of the original message is inserted into the Description field, allowing immediate access to the main content of the communication.
All attachments contained in the PEC — including files with metadata — are added to the Attachments section, ensuring full traceability of the message and its components.
The issue creation logic is designed to mirror the structure of the PEC communication:
the certified email recipient can be automatically set as the Assignee, while the sender is set as the Reporter, ensuring visibility into the origin of the message.
Finally, if there are recipients in carbon copy (CC), they can be added as Watchers of the ticket, giving them visibility and automatic updates on the issue’s progress.
