There are multiple ways to add new or existing options in a Multi-Level Cascading Select custom field configuration.
First of all, let’s get to the custom field administration page to have access to options management. As administrator go to Settings → Issues → Custom fields.
Click on the three dots “…” of the MLCS custom field and go to Context and default value. Here, click “edit custom field config”.
In the Administration section, in the “Add value“ text bar type a new option value:
Click “Done” to save the new changes.
If you moved from a Data Center instance or another Cloud instance, and you already have an existing configuration for your custom field, you can import using the option “Paste options”. After importing the option configuration from another Jira, copy the content of the JSON file in the text area of “Paste options” and save the changes.
Options are available to any Multi-Level Cascading Select by default. To add options to a specific Multi-Level Cascading Select custom field, as administrator go to Settings → App → MLCS Cloud. In the Configuration tab, insert a Root option and associate the Multi-Level Cascade Select field. This will make the selected Element Root unavailable to the other MLCS fields. ![]() Use multi-tree.It is possible to set the root of the tree to a single Multi-Level Cascading Select field or any Multi-Level Cascade Select field you have created, as shown in the picture below: ![]() |
